Nissan to Make AEB Standard on Some 2018 Models

Wild about safety features? Good news! Nissan announced that eight 2018 models will roll out with standard automatic emergency braking (AEB) including the Sentra, Altima, Leaf, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Murano, and Pathfinder.

Several other automakers also promised standard AEB for the future, but they're shooting for 2022. This feature is just around the corner for Nissan drivers.

Exciting, right? Now, what's AEB all about?

Put simply, it's about helping to prevent accidents and save lives.

Here's how AEB works:

  • Uses radar to monitor your speed and how close you are to the vehicle in front of you
  • Gives you audio and visual alerts to tell you if it's necessary to reduce your speed
  • Can automatically apply the brakes if you don't respond to help you avoid an accident
  • Engages the brakes to help reduce the effects of a collision if an accident cannot be avoided

This feature is currently optional on certain new 2017 Nissan models. To learn more about Nissan's safety features and set up a test drive, pay us a visit at our showroom in Chattanooga, TN today!
