Many activities require vehicles or equipment to be towed between locations. While it may be a little confusing at the start, towing isn't difficult once you get the hang of it. When you are towing a vehicle there are a few things that you should pay attention to and remind yourself of from time to time.

Be Careful
This tip isn't to scare you about towing a trailer, but rather to mention that you will need to handle your vehicle differently than when you are driving without a trailer attached to it. Due to the increased weight and moment arm created by the trailer, you will need to drive slower and more carefully so that you can maintain control of the trailer.

Pay Attention to Weights
Towing components are rated for certain weight limits. You will not only need to take the weight of what you will be hauling into account, but also the added weight of each part and component that you will be using.
