If you're considering getting a Nissan Sentra, the 2020 and 2019 models are both reliable choices. However, there are some differences between the two model years that you may want to consider. For 2020, the Nissan Sentra received a complete design change. Inside and out, there is more to enjoy with the Nissan Sentra this year than before. Some of the highlights that you'll find with the 2020 Sentra include a new base engine that provides more power. The exterior also has a sleeker, more polished designed, and the interior is fine-tuned with additional features, more safety aids, and an overall more upscale appearance. The 2019 Nissan Sentra added a new NissanConnect infotainment system on select models, along with a new SV Special Edition package with luxury amenities, disc brakes, and larger 17-inch wheels.


In 2019, the Nissan Sentra has one engine, which is a 1.8L that produces 124 HP. 2020, the Sentra gets a boost of power across the board. A 2.0L engine with four cylinders drives the 2020 Sentra. The engine creates up to 150 HP and 146 LB-FT of torque. An automatic transmission accompanies the engine. Front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain across the lineup.


Appearance changes slightly for the Nissan Sentra between 2020 and 2019. Additionally, some aesthetic differences are trim-specific. A sunroof and leather seats are added to the SR trim, while the Nismo gets sporty interior accents and a Bose sound system. A larger eight-inch display is standard on the SV in 2020, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
