2022 Nissan Frontier vs 2021 Nissan Frontier

Serving Chattanooga, TN

The Frontier is Nissan’s midsize pickup truck that has been on the road for more than 15 years. It has been progressively modernized over the years, so you may not be surprised to learn that the 2022 Frontier is a next-generation model packed with updates. Our Nissan of Chattanooga East associates will happily help you explore the differences between the 2021 Frontier and the most recent version so that you can make your selection with confidence.

Performance

The Frontier’s powertrain was last updated in the 2020 model year. At that time, a V6 engine that was mated to a nine-speed auto transmission was introduced, and this pair offered 310 horsepower. The powertrain is untouched for the 2021 and 2022 model years. Both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive variations are available. For 2022, the all-wheel drive versions now have a rear stabilizer bar and hill descent control. In addition, the frame and the hydraulic steering system have been enhanced in the latest version of the Frontier.

Appearance

The 2021 Frontier has the same look that the truck has had for several years. This includes a sloping hood, angled headlights, and rounded wheel wells. For 2021, the Frontier has fresh styling from end to end. The nose, grille, and wheel wells have been squared off. The fenders are defined, and the rectangular LED headlights are outlined on the top and bottom by bright bars of light. A front skid plate, a power liftgate, and other features are also on the 2022 Frontier.

Features

The entire interior design of the Frontier has been modernized between the 2021 and 2022 versions. The new-look comes with Zero Gravity seats, a large display screen flanked by tall air vents in the center stack, and a digital driver's panel. Additional features include USB ports, a sound system, a navigation system, heated seats, and mounted steering wheel controls. In addition, an auto-dimming rear mirror, leather material, a sunroof, assistive safety aids, and other equipment are in some or all trims for both model years.
