Two of Nissan's most popular crossovers, the Rogue and the Murano, are close siblings in the 2025 lineup and are frequently compared to each other. The compact Rogue crossover and the midsize Murano crossover share numerous traits, but their differences may make it easy for you to select a model that best matches your needs. What should you be aware of about these models before making your next purchase?
Performance
All five of the 2025 Nissan Rogue's trim levels are equipped with the same engine: a turbo three-cylinder, 1.5-liter unit that generates 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. Except for the Rock Creek trim level, the Rogue is available with a standard front-wheel drivetrain or optional all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is standard on the Rock Creek.
The Nissan Murano has three trim levels, and all feature a turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that produces 241 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The base trim level has front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. The top two trims have standard all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The Nissan Rogue has strong aesthetics and an upright stance. Its tall roof ensures ample headroom and cargo space in the cabin. Dark molding and a lower chrome accent bar accompany the smooth side panels. The wheels have a modern look with an alternating spoke design. At the front, the Rogue has a split headlight design and a traditional V-motion grille with unique, horizontal crossbars.
The Murano is distinctive with a raked roof and a tall hood accented by crisp personality lines. The sides show off smoothly flared fenders along with dark molding that runs along the lower portion of the doors. The Murano has a stretched version of the V-motion grille with tighter crossbars. The headlights are slender for a contemporary look.
Features
Some of the many features offered across the Rogue's trim lineup include a tri-zone climate control system, heated seats in both rows, a 360-degree camera, ProPilot Assist 2.1 with hands-free driving, a hands-free liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, driver's memory controls, a Bose sound system, a 12.3-inch touch display screen, and more.
The 2025 Murano is available with many of the Rogue's features as well as massaging front seats, quilted leather upholstery, remote vehicle services, sound-deadening features, and more.
