Sometimes, commitment to the environment requires an all-in dedicated approach. That's why Nissan created NESCO (Nissan Energy Saving Collaboration). These are teams of energy specialists whose sole job is to dig into the energy use at Nissan manufacturing plants, find out where and how that energy is being used, and find ways to make the process more efficient.

Between 2005 and 2014, Nissan was able to reduce CO2 emissions by 22.6 percent.

That 22.6 percent represents 331,184 tons of CO2, an amount that would take 23,656,000 cedar trees to sequester.

Some changes brought about by NESCO included using different sized induction furnaces to heat materials, instead of a one-size-fits-all furnace; lowering temperature in the electrodeposition-coating ovens to reduce gas consumption; and optimizing the cooling process in continuous carburizing furnaces to reduce electricity consumption.

Whether you're looking for a new Nissan, a used vehicle, or coming in for car service and repair, you're making a positive choice for the environment with Nissan of Chattanooga East.
